The landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes of Scotland
Living in the Scottish Highlands I am ideally placed to capture the beauty and majesty of this amazing country. This collection includes many Scottish Lochs, Scottish Mountains, and Scottish beaches. You'll also find a few castles. All images look great on canvas or as a framed print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print. Scotland, and particularly the Scottish Highlands, feature prominently in my photography. My images are predominantly from the Scottish Highlands and Islands, but I am constantly adding images from other areas of this beautiful country. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Glen Affric
Some people claim that Glen Affric in the Scottish Highlands is in fact the most beautiful in Scotland. Well, I don't know about that but it is mighty pretty and it is an icon of the Scottish landscape. All images look great on canvas or as a framed print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Seascapes and Landscapes in Black and White (monochrome)
A collection of British landscape Images in monochrome. The collection features mainly the landscapes of Scotland. Stripping away colour back to the black and white allows the viewer to concentrate on the composition and appreciate the beauty of this landscape. Black and white photography often conveys a timeless quality. In my images, I also sometimes use subtle tones (such as sepia, copper, or cyan) to add a particular mood. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
The Seascapes, Landscapes and Skyscapes of the Scottish Highlands and Islands
This collection showcases my most popular images of the magnificent scenery to be found in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. I am lucky enough to live in this wonderful part of the UK and it constantly inspires my work. The collection includes some of the most iconic Lochs and Glens as well as many wonderful mountains and beaches. The Scottish Highlands are one of the least populated areas in Europe which help it maintain such rugged beauty. Images include The Isle of Skye, Lewis and Harris, Torridon, Assynt, Glen Affric, and many more. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Highland Cows and Cattle in Black and White
Who doesn't love a Highland Cow? A collection of Highland Cattle in black and white. These beautiful Highland Cows have such characterful features. Perfectly adapted to the Scottish conditions, Highland cattle are perfectly at ease with winter conditions. In Scotland, you will often hear them referred to as Hairy Coos, or Heilan Coos.
The Black Isle in The Scottish Highlands
Just north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands is an area known as the Black Isle. Despite its name, the Black Isle is a peninsula surrounded on three sides by the sea. To the north is the Cromarty Firth, and to the south is the Beauly Firth and the Moray Firth lies to the east.
Abstract Seascapes and Skyscapes
This collection of images is about abstract interpretations of seascapes and skyscapes. Many images are created using intentional camera movement or ICM. This involves using longer shutter speeds whilst moving the camera during the exposure. Some shots can also involve zooming during the exposure.
Scotland Beach and Coastal images
Scotland has many spectacular beaches and magnificent coastlines. This collection includes many of my favourite coastal locations from around Scotland. Most of my images are from the Scottish Highlands and Islands, including many from the Moray coast, The Isle of Skye, and from around the North Coast 500 (NC500) touring route. Do check back regularly to this collection for each new beach or stretch of coast. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print. I do love a Scottish beach so expect this collection to grow. Please check out my various collections of Scotland and in particular the highlands of Scotland.
Ullapool and Assynt
The dramatic west coast of Scotland is home to Ullapool and Assynt. Famous for its rugged scenery this is arguably one of the UK's best landscapes. Featuring as part of the famous North Coast 500 (NC500) this is a highlight for any visitor to the Scottish Highlands. The images in this collection look superb on canvas or as framed prints. For those looking for garden art then Acrylic can withstand being outside.
The City of Edinburgh - The Capital of Scotland
Images from around Edinburgh, including favourites such as the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, and Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh is one of the most photogenic cities in the UK and will look fantastic on the walls of your home or business. Personally, I love the Edinburgh Canvas prints, however, the framed prints also look great.
The North West Coast of Scotland (including the Isle of Skye and western isles)
A collection of images from places on or near the west coast of Scotland including Skye and the Western Isles (Skye, Lewis and Harris). This collection includes many images from around the famous North Coast 500 (NC500) touring route as well as many a west coast of scotland beach.
The North Coast of England and on to Scotland
A collection of images highlighting the beauty of the coastlines in the north of England and Scotland. This collection includes many areas that can be found on the famous Nort Cost 500 (NC500) driving route. I also have a specific collection for this magical 500 mile route.
The North Coast 500 (NC500)
Images from locations on or near Scotland's famous North Coast 500 (NC500) driving route. This is a circular route that runs for just over 500 miles taking in some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes. The city of Inverness is often used as the start and finish point for the route. The route includes Inverness, Ross and Cromarty, Sutherland and Caithness. Buckle up for the best road trip in Scotland and possibly the whole United Kingdom. Every year this route becomes more popular as people discover just how wonderfui it is.
The Scottish Lochs
A collection of images featuring some of the most beautiful lochs in Scotland. Scotland has thousands of lochs (both freshwater lochs and sea lochs) and this collection just scratches the surface of the great diversity of landscapes in which you can find them. Most of my images are from the Scottish Highlands.
Sea Lochs (Fjords) of Scotland
Scotland is a land of incredible beauty and I am constantly drawn to the many fabulous Lochs. Most Scottish Lochs are of the freshwater kind, however, Scotland is also fringed by some spectacular seawater lochs. Sea lochs are essentially the same as Fjords. Sea lochs are a haven for wildlife as well as being naturally spectacular.
Castles and Grand Houses of Scotland
It is estimated that Scotland has over 3,000 castles. Here are just a few to whet your appetite. From the much-photographed Eilean Donan Castle, Dunnottar Castle, Castle Stalker, Inverness Castle and Edinburgh Castle to the less well-known such as Ardvreck Castle, Duffus Castle, Tioram Castle, Slains Castle, and Corgarff Castle this collection has something for everyone. Living in the Scottish Highlands I am spoilt for choice when it comes to castles and the collection will undoubtedly continue to grow. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Callanish Standing Stones - The Isle of Lewis (outer Hebrides)
A collection of Images of the mystical Callanish Standing Stones that can be found on the Isle of Lewis. This Bronze age structure is about 5,000 years old and is arranged in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle. Stone circles are common throughout Scotland. The Scottish landscape has many such standing stones.
The Isle of Skye
A collection of stunning images from the Isle of Skye. Known as "The Misty Isle" this island forms part of the Inner Hebrides and is only about a 2-hour drive from home so I feel very lucky. The Isle of Skye is home to some of the most dramatic landscapes not only in Scotland but also the entire United Kingdom. Some of the key locations on Skye include The Old Man of Storr, The Quiraing, The Fairy Pools, Neist Point Lighthouse, The Cuillin Mountains, Elgol, and Brothers Point. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
Sunset and Sunrise - The Golden Hours
Both sunset and sunrise deliver fantastic light that softens the landscape and adds subtle tones of color. From golden oranges through to purples, pinks, and reds. This collection includes sunrises and sunsets from many locations including Scotland, England, Italy, New Zealand, and Australia. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
The City of Inverness - The City in the Scottish Highlands
Inverness is often said to be The Capital of the Highlands. Not only is Inverness the only city officially in the Highlands of Scotland, but it is also one of the most beautiful places to visit. I may be a little biased as it is the city in which I live, but hopefully, my images will show you the beauty that I see. Inverness makes a great base for exploring the Scottish Highlands. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print.
The Moray Firth Coast in northeastern Scotland
A collection of images showcasing the wonderful Moray Firth area including the impressive Bow Fiddle Rock in Portknockie. This collection includes images from around Inverness as well as the likes of Nairn, Lossiemouth, Hopeman, Spey Bay, Portknockie, Chananory Point, Rosemarkie and many more.
The Rivers, Streams, Burns, and Waterfalls of Britain
A collection of rivers and waterfalls mainly, but not exclusively, within Scotland. Rivers and waterfalls can create a tremendous sense of calm and wellbeing and perhaps that is why I find them so compelling to photograph. I often use long exposure techniques to add smooth silk-like qualities to the moving water.
The Kelpies statues at Helix Park near Falkirk
The Kelpies are 30-meter-high horse-head sculptures. They represent the mythical water horses and are synonymous with the heavy horses (Clydesdale horses) that worked on the Scottish waterways. These magnificent sculptures lie between Falkirk and Grangemouth on the Forth and Clyde Canal. All images look great on canvas or as a framed print. For outdoor use go with an acrylic print. My images of the Kelpies are amongst my most popular images.
Cumbria and The Lake District
A collection of images from Cumbria including the ever-popular Lake District National Park. This popular location has many photographic opportunities and makes for stunning wall art. Images look great as a canvas or framed print. They can even be displayed outside if printed on acrylic.
Eilean Donan Castle - in the Scottish Highlands
Eilean Donan Castle is said to be one of the most photographed in Scotland. It is one of the enduring images of the Scottish landscape. Standing on an impressive Island at the point where three lochs meet (Loch Long, Loch Duich, and Lochalsh) it is indeed a magnificent sight. With the ever-popular Isle of Skye just a short drive away it is a must-visit location when traveling the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. The nearest village is Dornie.
Mountains of Scotland
A collection of iconic Scottish landscape images featuring the mountains of Scotland. This collection includes images of The Old Man of Storr, The Black Cuillins, The Red Cuillins, The Quiraing, The Five Sisters of Kintail, Glen Affric, Cairngorm, The Lecht, Torridon, Beinn Eighe and many more. This collection includes Munros, Grahams and Corbetts. Most images feature the wonderful Scottish Highlands. All images look great on canvas or as a framed fine art print.
