Perry Johnson

I lived and worked in Prague for five years from 2003 to 2008 and while on the way to Australia in late 2006 I was passing through Hong Kong airport and decided to buy myself a Canon 400D SLR camera, eight years later I’m now using a Nikon D800 I'm now living in the UK after returning from Malaysia where I lived for 3 years. A lot of the images uploaded are from South East Asia and that area. As of February 2014 I'm currently living in Nairobi, Kenya with my wife.

The festivities of the Patron Saint of Pollença, the Mare de Dèu dels Àngels, are civic-religious celebrations of very ancient origin that, thanks to the incorporation, already in the 19th century, of the simulation of one of the battles that the Pollencins suffered against 1,500 Moors in the 16th century to the festival program -among other main activities- has turned the event into a very popular and first-rate tourist attraction that brings together the entire town. On August 2, Pollença dresses in white and colors, to receive her virgin and to defend her people from enemy attack.

Puig de Maria is the little hill that sits opposite the town of Pollensa. Its a 45 min walk to the top with outstanding views of Pollensa, Puerto Pollens and the surrounding area. It's well worth a walk up. At the top is a lovely little church and a coffee shop.
