Stephen Maher

Born in London but raised in Wales and Scotland and my heart shall now forever belong to Alba. I enjoy photographing landscapes and architecture. I often lose it on long walks alone or with my partner. As an ex-soldier I sometimes take risks or I can sit and watch for a long time before taking the photograph. My favourite place is in the Highlands of Scotland and especially on the Isle of Skye or in the forests of Rothiemurchus. Though I enjoy landscapes I sometimes search for the unusual and if a location truly grabs me I end up finding out everything I can about the place. I like to describe my images as 'if someone has just walked out of shot' and I always try and leave room in the images for the subject to breathe.
