I was born in Pembrokeshire and my interest in photography was stimulated by the dramatic and beautiful scenery that surrounded me. Unfortunately, due to my work commitments I was unable to pursue my interest in photography. I am a retired Social Care Manager and worked throughout South Wales. I am a committed environmentalist and purchased 25 acres of woodland a few years ago which I am attempting to turn back to ancient woodland. I am striving to convey in my images beauty and wonder.

Freshwater West

Freshwater West

Freshwater West is a beach near Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire in West Wales. It is part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Freshwater West is noted for its strong waves and currents and is one of Wales' top surfing beaches.

Carew Castle

Carew Castle

A collection of images of this Norman castle which was built by Gerald de Windsor in 1100. Over the centuries that have followed the structure has been modified, for example, Tudor windows. The castle sits on a limestone bluff over looking the Carew river inlet. Monochrome version.

Red Kite

Red Kite

As recently as the 1980s the Red Kite (Milvus milvus) population was in decline with the remaining birds confined to moors and neighbouring wooded valleys. However, a series of reintroduction programmes in Wales and England has seen a large increase in in the population. The Red Kite spends little time on the ground except when hunting for earth worms and carrion. It is easily identified by its forked tail. A series of images taken in Mid Wales.

Broad Haven (Welsh: Aberllydan) is located at the south west corner of St Brides Bay. The beach is very popular with tourists and water sports enthusiasts. Broad Haven together with Little Haven forms the Havens community.

St Davids Cathedral

St Davids Cathedral

St Davids Cathedral is situated in St Davids, Pembrokeshire. Since the 6th century there has been a church on this site. The present Cathedral was built in 1181 and restored in 1793. It is the resting place of St David the patron saint of Wales.

Pembrokeshire Coast Windsurfing

Pembrokeshire Coast Windsurfing

Windsurfing is a wind propelled water sport that is a combination of sailing and surfing. It is also referred to as "sailboarding" and "boardsailing", and emerged in the late 1960s from the aerospace and surf culture of California. Windsurfing gained a popular following across Europe and North America by the late 1970s. This a series of images of windsurfers enjoying the sport on the Pembrokeshire Coast.

Amroth is a small village with a beach near Tenby in Pembrokeshire. The beach is approximately 1/2 a mile long. There is a petrified forest which reveals itself when the tide is very low. a popular beach for families and surfers.

Newgale is a small village in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It has a 3km stretch of beach and is situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The beach has a large pebble bank which was created by a storm in 1859. The beach is very popular with holidaymakers and water sports enthusiasts. The images displayed show Newgale through the seasons and water sports activities.

Druidstone beach is situated on the Pembrokeshire coast between Nolton Haven and Broad Haven. A sandy beach with rugged cliffs make this another Pembrokeshire gem.

Laugharne is a small town on the Taf estuary in Carmarthenshire. It is famous for being the home of the iconic writer Dylan Thomas. It is also home to a Norman castle.

Pendine is a small village in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The village is located at the end of the famous Pendine sands. The beach stretches for 7 miles and has a history of car and motor cycle racing dating back to the early 1900s. Also due to the length of the beach many attempts were made at the land speed record by Malcom Campbell and J.G. Parry-Thomas.

Abereiddy is a small coastal hamlet on the northern coast of the St Davids peninsula. The beach has dark sand composed of the grey slate which was quarried beside the beach. The same slate gives a deep blue colour to what is now called the Blue Lagoon which is the breached quarry. The coastal walk from Porthgain to Aberreidy is very popular.

The little chapel at the bottom of St Govan's Head is the stuff of legend - a small chapel built into right the rock by the water's edge. Situated on the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline.

Porthgain is small coastal hamlet on the north coast of the St Davids peninsula. Once a small commercial harbour used for exporting stone from the nearby quarry. There are still a number of local fisherman working out of the harbour. A very popular tourist destination.

Aberdovey (Welsh:Aberdyfi) is a small seaside village in Gwynedd, Wales. Situated on the north side of the Dyfi estuary. It has thriving harbour and is very popular with tourists. I t is inside the Snowdonia National Park.

Solva (Welsh: Solfach) is a harbour village in St Brides Bay. It is situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast national Park. The harbour is very popular with boating enthusiasts.

Tenby (Welsh: Dinbych-y-pysgod, lit. 'fortlet of the fish') is probably the most iconic seaside town in Wales, rivalling places like Mevagissey and Polperro for quaintness and charm. It is certainly the jewel in the crown of Pembrokeshire. In the summer the harbour is full of boats.

Herdwick sheep are a breed of domestic sheep originating in the United Kingdom. They are native to the Lake District of Cumbria in North West England. The name of the breed is derived from the Old Norse herdvyck, which means sheep pasture. Herdwick have traditionally been bred in the fells and pastures of the Lake District in Cumbria but they are now widely seen throughout the United Kingdom.

The Preseli Hills or, as they are known locally and historically, Preseli Mountains is a range of hills in north Pembrokeshire, West Wales, mostly within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The highest point in the Preseli Hills at 1758 feet above sea level is Foel Cwm Cerwyn.

Dolgoch Falls are three water falls forming the Dol-goch stream. Situated in the Tal-y-Lyn Valley in the south western part of the Snowdonia National Park. The Falls cascade down a beautiful wooded ravine.

The Victorian era was the high point of lighthouse building around the welsh coast due to the increase in the amount of sea traffic. Between 1797 and 1996 over 36 lighthouses were built. This collection shows many of those stunning lighthouse in spectacular settings.

Marloes sands is a remote beach approximately one mile long in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is situated a short distance away from Marloes village. From the beach you can see Skokholm island and Grassholm island.

Little Haven (Welsh: Aber bach) is a seaside village located at the south east corner of St Brides Bay. An old fishing village which is now mainly a popular tourist attraction. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park have designated Little Haven a conservation area. Together with Broad Haven to the north Little Haven forms the Havens community.

Whitesands beach is located a few miles from St Davids in Pembrokeshire. It is overlooked by the craggy hill of Carn Llidi. From the beach on a clear day you can see Ramsey Island. A beautiful beach which is very popular in the summer with holidaymakers and surfing enthusiasts. Regarded as on of the best surfing beaches in Wales.
